You’re Already There

Michael Lewis, the author of Moneyball and Blindside amongst others, says in a recently launched Masterclass

“The biggest mistake that writers make is to think that the material is inside them….you have such an edge as a writer if you have lived some experience and can tell about it.”

This is true for everything.

Take what is inside – your thoughts, your passions, your aspirations – and bring them out to the world.

Recently, two friends/colleagues have shared with me that they aspire to be CEOs.

Neither has been a CEO before, and both of them would be outstanding in the role.

Having the confidence to put this out into the universe is so powerful.

When you put your deepest desires out into the world, you do 2 things:

1)    You change the vibrations around you

2)    You inspire those you tell to pursue their own dreams as well

…there is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

~ Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

In our culture these days, we have made catastrophizing an art form.

We tell ourselves things like “I’m not good enough. People will laugh at me.”

Maybe. And then?

Take what is in your heart and in your mind

your deepest desires and dreams

and act as though they are already true.

“Use your experience to find good stories” says Lewis.

Stories are just your life’s resume.

They are the cuts, scrapes, and bruises

lessons, victories, and triumphs

of a life well-lived.

Stories are not made from the shots you didn’t take.

“I binge watched Netflix all weekend” does not a good story make.

Get outside.

Pursue your dreams.

Live.

And then tell your stories.

Let’s build your digital brand and tell the universe where you want to go:
