MARKETING WORKSHOPS
Stone Tablets: Creating a Consistent Brand Experience
The creation of a solid and inspirational strategic narrative ensures that the messaging and positioning of all communications – from product messaging, to employee communications and executive communications – are consistent and compelling. Building on this foundation, the stone tablets create your key messages, product narratives, case studies, customer references and social/digital tactics to build a loyal and lasting customer following.
Founding Stories: Breakthrough Marketing for the American Market
A strategic narrative captures the story of a company’s founding: What factors compelled the Founders? What problems were they solving? And why were they so passionate about the products they were creating? Stories pull customers and prospects in. They see themselves in the story, and, if the stories are good, how their lives can be better as a result of the solution. This session will introduce the concept of a “Stone Tablet”, a framework for creating compelling marketing messages that are built from a company’s unique founding story. It expands on the “why” and captures the who, how and what of your company and products. We will use examples of famous American brands to see how they have used their own strategic narratives to connect with employees, customers, and prospects.
LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS
Leading Teams
Based on the work of Ron Heifetz and Harvard University’s Adaptive Leadership model, this course will teach leaders how to manage through change and lead through evolving circumstances. Leaders are not made in times of equilibrium but during times of crisis. Gaining perspective, managing self, leading at a pace that can be tolerated, recognizing losses as the new paradigm emerges - all of these are skills that leaders must acquire in order to lead through change.
Showing Up as The Leader You Are
This workshop will focus on lead participants on a journey to clarify and live into their personal values and reveal their true purpose. We will build the framework of foundational beliefs that guide your life, uncover what you truly value and reveal how you can live your purpose.
COMMUNICATION WORKSHOPS
Communicating to Lead: It’s Not What You Say But How You Say It
This workshop will train you how to show up with presence and power, how to communicate as a leader, and how to influence others. Drawing on the concepts of playing high and low, we will use verbal techniques to convey power and body language to influence how you are perceived. Participants will leave with the skills to be perceived as leaders when, how and where they desire.
Becoming a Recognized Thought Leader
Using the proprietary V-SMART model, we will create your thought leadership position and a plan for implementing it. At the end of this workshop participants will have a clearly defined vision statement, a communications platform that captures their thought leadership position, several abstract ideas on which they can be interviewed or write blog posts and have defined themes for social media. (This talk has been given at the Grace Hopper Conference, the Verve Conference for Women and elsewhere).
All Great Leaders Are Great Speakers
Drawing on the rules of rhetoric, this workshop will focus on the speaking styles and tools of the masters with examples from the greatest speakers in the world. Participants will learn how to use symbols, manage tension, build excitement and inspire audiences.
LIFESTYLE WORKSHOPS
Using Ancient Wisdom to Map Your Life
The Apache passed down cultural traditions and wisdom through stories that were associated with places in the landscape. Based on the work of Keith Basso and Suzanne Simard, we will draw on connections in the natural world for life lessons, use stories and wisdom from ancient cultures, and create your life map so that you can become more innovative in your life and work.
Follow the Tracks
Life is constantly speaking to us, providing subtle signs that point the way to what we seek. This course builds on lessons from wildlife trackers in South Africa that highlight disappointments, dramas, lessons learned, and successes that can help us recognize the wisdom that is all around us.
You Are Enough
This workshop is for new college grads or individuals starting a new job. Getting up to speed quickly and making a good impression can be daunting. This workshop will go over both practical as well as life skills, including how to determine who holds the power, how to learn the business quickly, why your employer is not your family and why you are enough. (This talk has been given to Parsons Paris – The New School).
